Police Officers fearful of their superiors, a Welfare Association Member says.

A corporal in the Police Welfare Association (PWA) told the media that some officers are afraid that they will be victimized if they challenge some decisions taken by their superiors.

Corporal Sylvester George says officers are even fearful of attending meetings organized by the PWA.

George says when officers exercise their rights to attend PWA meetings, they receive threats from other officers.

“Our members cannot be fearful in this time, 2022 to support themselves and lend assistance to each other. Even last June the Minister published an article in a paper saying “Police Officers to boycott their own Police welfare meeting,” this is making our members fearful.”

The PWA is also lobbying for full issuance coverage for its members, better working conditions and retirement benefits among other issues.
