US girl missing since 2019 found alive in secret room

In 2019 a young girl by the name of Paislee Shultis went missing. Police say this week, the girl, now 6, has been found alive in a secret room under a staircase.

Shultis was discovered in a house in the town of Saugerties after a search on Monday after Police received a tip that she was being kept at a hidden location. In 2019, she was reported missing from Tioga County, New York, in July 2019, according to a police statement. She was aged four at the time.

Authorities at the time believed she had been abducted by her parents, Kimberly Cooper, 33, and Kirk Shultis Jr., 32, after they lost custody of her and her older sister.

Her biological but non-custodial parents as well as her grandfather were arrested and charged with custodial interference and endangering the welfare of a child.

On Wednesday, Police searched the Shultis’ home and discovered the child and her mother under a staircase. Authorities say that while she was very confused and upset, she is in good health and has now been reunited with her legal guardian and older sister.
