After 15 months, the state of emergency has finally ended. Both the state of emergency and nightly curfews ended at 5 a.m. on Thursday, December 23.
According to the latest publication of regulations under the Public Health Act (Dangerous Infectious Disease) (Amendment) all other safety protocols remain in place.
Those regulations also mandate business owners and operators to ensure employees, customers and clients wash or sanitize their hands before entering the business, wear a face mask andcontinue to maintain physical distancing of six feet with other individuals.
Masks must completely cover both the nose and the mouth of the wearer. In addition, the wearer must leave the ears, eyes and forehead visible and the mask must not be worn together with dark glasses, caps, hoodies or any other head covering.
Bars, cinemas, night clubs, Gym operators, and other entertainment facilities are to allow entry only to those presenting a vaccination identification card, while restaurant owners and operators may only permit in-house dining to those with a vaccination identification card.
Owners and operators who flout these regulations are liable to a fine of $5,000.00 or six months in prison or to both fine and imprisonment.
Lastly, no public gathering shall take place without the approval of the Central Board of Health.
