PM Browne Celebrates Court Ruling Favoring PLH in Barbuda Dispute

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has praised a recent High Court ruling that favored PLH (Peace, Love, and Happiness) in a land lease dispute with the Barbuda Council. The Council had claimed that PLH owed $1 million in unpaid rent and wanted to apply PLH’s contributions to the Barbuda airport development as future rent. However, the court upheld agreements from 2017, rejecting the Council’s claims.

In his statement, Browne noted, “Common sense and signed agreements from 2017 prevailed,” and criticized the Council for its “destructive behaviors” and “frivolous litigations,” which he believes hinder national progress. He urged for more constructive collaboration to foster development in Antigua and Barbuda.
