Erica Edwards voices her opinion on the nation’s advancement

Business Development Professional Erica Edwards believes that unless the politicians in Antigua and Barbuda mature, the country cannot grow to satisfactory levels.

Edwards who was part of a panel discussion on November 7, was asked where she would like to see the country in thirty years.

She is also supporting suggestions for the setting up and implementation of a National Action Plan

“And yes we do need to have an active civil society, a more involved civil society and a good marriage between government and civil society in order for us to move forward and have any sustainable development,” she said.

“Where we are right now is that every time a government changes priority shifts, everything overturns, this government or political party want to throw out the baby with the bathwater and then we are starting all over from scratch and we are getting nowhere.”

“For a national development plan to work and for us to have any kind of successful development political parties have to at least agree on where we need to be in 30 years,” Edwards passionately declared.
