101 Active Covid-19 Cases in Antigua and Barbuda

The most recent report received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John Medical Centre has revealed twenty-four (24) new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Tuesday 16th August 2021 at 6pm.

Nine (9) of these cases were recorded on August 15th and fifteen (15) on August 16th.

The Epidemiology Unit is still in the process of ascertaining whether these (24) cases are imported or non-imported. Once the investigation is completed, the information will be given in a subsequent publication. These cases are out of one hundred and ninety-seven (197) samples that were processed at Sir Lester Bird MSJMC.

Meanwhile, of the nineteen (19) cases published on the dashboard for 15th August, fifteen (15) were non-imported and four (4) imported.

Eleven (11) recovered cases were recorded increasing the total to one thousand two hundred and seventy-seven (1277).

Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is one thousand four hundred and twenty-one (1421); which is inclusive of one hundred and one (101) active cases. There are nine (9) hospitalized cases; six (6) mild, one (1) moderate and two (2) severe.

Meanwhile, Antigua and Barbuda has fully vaccinated thirty two thousand two hundred and forty-eight (32,248) individuals while six thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight(6,938) have only received their first dose.
