Picket staged by UPP Candidate, Pearl Quinn-Williams

The United Progressive Party UPP Candidate for St. John’s Rural North constituency Pearl Quinn-Williams staged a picket outside the parliament yesterday, June 22.

Quinn-Williams, along with other members of the party and the public were protesting against the latest extension of the state of emergency.

She told reporters that even if the extension will be approved by parliament, she has the right to disapprove of it

Quinn Williams also accused the government of trying to keep residents in bondage by extending the state of emergency.

She further argued that there is no need for there to be a State of Emergency as the Public Health Act is in place to permit the government to issue curfew restrictions and other COVID-19 protocols.
