Police have reported that there were no immediate signs of foul play in connection with the death of elderly Willikies resident Akley Roberts, whose body was discovered near his home on Wednesday, November 4.
According to information released by police, Roberts had been reported missing before a search was conducted in the surrounding area.
A search team eventually discovered his body on an unoccupied plot of land approximately 100 feet from his backyard.
The District Medical Doctor attended the scene and pronounced him dead at approximately 8:42 a.m.
Although police have indicated that there were no signs of foul play, investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death remain ongoing.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda has expressed condolences to Roberts’ family, friends and loved ones.
Police also thanked members of the public who assisted in the search.
Authorities have not indicated that the investigation has been closed.
