The Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) has proudly graduated its latest class of medical interns, marking the end of a challenging one-year program that prepares young doctors for full licensing in Antigua and Barbuda.
Eleven interns completed the rigorous training, gaining a strong foundation in clinical medicine. They are: Dr. Stephanie Deib, Dr. Neejah Crump, Dr. Grace Edwards, Dr. Phillescia Jean, Dr. Michelle Jeffrey, Dr. Alex Kelsick, Dr. Prince Lee, Dr. Debresia Lewis, Dr. Alicia Rouse, Dr. Doniece Thomas, and Dr. Lee Ann Sandy.
Special awards were presented during the ceremony, with Dr. Alicia Rouse capturing both the Patient Care and Compassion Award and the coveted Intern of the Year Award. Other honorees included Dr. Michelle Jeffrey (Clinical Excellence), Dr. Neejah Crump (Leadership and Team Spirit), Dr. Prince Lee (Most Improved), and Dr. Alex Kelsick (Spirit of Service).
SLBMC also recognized outstanding mentorship and teaching, with honors going to Dr. Vonetta George, the Paediatrics Team, and Dr. Samora Goodwin.
The ceremony was a celebration of dedication, growth, and excellence, as SLBMC continues to shape the next generation of doctors serving Antigua and Barbuda.
