Break-in at primary school leaves classrooms ransacked

A maintenance worker discovered that intruders had broken into Wesleyan Junior Academy Primary School in Buckleys, sometime between Tuesday evening and Friday morning this week.

The staff member arrived at work, Friday morning, to find clear signs of forced entry. The matter was  immediately reported to the police.

According to investigators who examined the scene, the intruders used tools to break through security measures at multiple locations throughout the building. The break-in appears to have been carefully planned, with the perpetrators targeting specific areas of the school.

The intruders first gained access to a book storage room on the first floor by breaking the lock on a secured door. They then made their way to the second floor, where they cut through security bars and forced entry into the principal’s office.

Both the book room and the administrative office were thoroughly searched and left in disarray, though school officials report that nothing appears to have been stolen from either location.

Evidence suggests the intruders entered the school grounds by climbing over a perimeter fence, which was damaged during the break-in.

According to reports Police have interviewed several individuals in connection with the incident but have not yet identified any suspects. Forensic specialists are expected to process the scene for additional evidence.
