DEMOCRATS WIN CONTROL OF BOTH CHAMBERS OF CONGRESS IN MAJOR MIDTERM VICTORY

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Democratic Party has secured control of both the United States Senate and House of Representatives following a major victory in the November 3, 2026 midterm elections, delivering a significant political setback to President Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

The results represent a dramatic shift in American politics, with voters in several traditionally Republican states supporting Democratic candidates.

According to reported election results, Democrats gained at least seven Senate seats and captured more than two dozen Republican-held congressional districts.

Among the major developments were Democratic victories in Texas, Kansas, South Carolina, Iowa, North Carolina, Maine and Ohio.

The outcome means Democrats will have greater power to challenge the Trump administration’s policies, conduct congressional investigations and block legislation and nominations they oppose.

The results also come amid growing concerns among American voters about the cost of living, inflation, the economy and the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

The election has also produced several historic political milestones, including the election of Michigan’s Abdul El-Sayed, who is set to become the first Muslim senator in American history.

With Republicans losing control of Congress, attention is now turning to how the Trump administration will work with a Democratic-controlled legislature during the remaining two years of his presidency.

President Trump has indicated that he intends to use his veto powers against legislation he opposes.

The outcome marks one of the most significant midterm setbacks for a sitting president in recent American political history.
