The government has reached an agreement to purchase the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall property near Sea View Farm for US$3 million, intending to transform it into a Wellness Centre focused on mental health and wellness.
The facility, which sits on 6 acres of land, will replace Clarevue Hospital as the new home for its patients.
While additional funding will be needed for renovations, the government aims to create a modern and aesthetically pleasing environment that addresses complaints about current patient living conditions.
There is a strong commitment to reshaping public perceptions of mental health care with this new facility.
