Youth face a charge by the court while another case of interest has been adjourned

Approximately two weeks after the country recorded its first road fatality for 2022, the police have charged 26 years-old Diondre Samuel of Belmont for causing the death of Lashauna Bridgen of Yorks.

Samuel was reportedly the driver of the Grey Toyota Crown motor car A2982 that struck Bridgen, while crossing Friars Hill Road on the morning of 20th January.

He is expected in court on February 3 where the charge will be read to him.

Meantime, for a third time in a row, the case against the three men accused of killing Customs Officer Nigel Christian has been adjourned.

When the high-profile case came up in court on February 2 it was adjourned to April 27 to allow the Prosecution more time to receive pending reports from another jurisdiction.

The nation went into shock on July 10, 2020, when reports broke that Christian was allegedly abducted from his home in McKinnons.

His body was later found in the vicinity of New Winthrop’s with multiple bullet wounds.

Thirty years Lasean Bully of Cashew Hill and 28-year-old Wayne Thomas of Hatton along with 30-year-old Saleim Harrigan of Greenbay have been charged with Christian’s murder.
