The police are currently investigating an apparent drowning incident that took place at Pigeon Point Beach on January 23.
According to the police, it was reported that around 4:20 pm on that day, 23-year-old Jahmali Smith of Swetes, along with other close relatives and friends went to Pegion Point Beach to bathe.
It was further reported that he went into the water, and sometimes after he was not seen.
An immediate search was conducted in the area by the police with the assistance of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard and the Antigua and Barbuda Search and Rescue.
The lifeless body of Smith was discovered floating in shallow water of the said beach around 11:23 pm and his was pronounced dead by a doctor shortly after 1am on Monday.
