Case Adjourned for Freedom Fighters Protestors Accused of Throwing Missiles

Three men who were accused of throwing missiles during the memorable August 8 ‘Freedom Fighters’ protest were told they would have to wait until February 2022 to have their case heard by Magistrate Conliffe Clarke.

Dwayne Desilva, Horan ‘Hammer Pump’ George and Terry Viville were granted bail of $5,000, each with a $500 cash component after they were charged days after the August 8 uprising which contested to mandatory vaccinations and COVID-19 measures put in place by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

During this first appearance, the men’s lawyers requested that the entering of pleas be deferred until the case file is disclosed. The judge agreed and the matter was therefore adjourned until November 30.

However, on Tuesday, the party was informed that their case would be attended to on February 22 of next year.

Their new court date falls exactly 14 days after Donette Simon, of Tindale Road, and Shenel Williams, of Villa, (who were jointly accused of “organizing a prohibited public meeting” and participating in said event) are expected to be back in court to face the respected charges.

The pair appeared in court last week and were told that they would answer to their charges on February 8th 2022.
