UPP suggests a better approach to Vaccination

Vaccination by persuasion. That’s the approach the United Progressive party says it would take if it was the government, opposed to a vaccine mandate according to Party Leader Harold Lovell.

The government implemented a vaccine mandate on September 20, requiring all public sector workers to at least take one dose of a COVID vaccine or not show up at the workplace until they have done so.

Come October 1, unvaccinated government workers will not be paid for their absence from work.

Lovell who was a guest at a media outlet maintains that persuasion is the best approach.

He added that “the mandatory, we would replace that with vaccination by persuasion and we would spare no efforts in our efforts to persuade people.”

“The mandatory, it has caused some people who would have perhaps done it anyway to speed up of their trips to the vaccination centre. So it has achieved some limited success but at the same time as others like the party continue to encourage people we have had very good success as far as that is a concern.”

“It is something that can work but there needs to be a national effort. We have to motivate people to do that and get people to be involved so that people feel committed to persuading people and cut out this thing where you are picking one side of the community against another,” Harold Lovell stated.
