Antigua and Barbuda Association of Georgia Foundation donates to the Ministry of Education

A number of supplies to aid students in protecting themselves against the Coronavirus was donated recently to the Ministry of Education, by the Antigua and Barbuda Association of Georgia (ABAG) Foundation.

The supplies include masks, infrared body thermometers and hand sanitisers which will benefit students at Golden Grove, Green Bay and Jennings Primary Schools as well as Clare Hall Secondary, Ottos Comprehensive and the Boys’ Training School.

The foundation is an affiliate of the Antigua and Barbuda Association of Georgia, with one of its goals being to “assist students of Antiguan and Barbudan heritage to achieve their educational goals and become productive citizens.”

Board Chairman, Dean Benta said this year, in lieu of scholarships, the foundation has contributed to several public schools in Antigua and Barbuda in their ongoing efforts to cope with the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In accepting the donation, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Rosa Greenaway assured the foundation that the supplies will go a long way in protecting students at a time when COVID-19 remains a major concern.
