Anthony Smith jr. donate mask with schools logo and sewing machine to All Saints Secondary

The All-Saints Secondary School welcomed a well needed contribution from Anthony Smith JR., the UPP represent for the All Saints West Constituency.  The students and faculty were the beneficiaries of a sewing machine to assist the Home Economics Department and several embroidered masks showing the School’s Logo.

The donation represents Mr. Smith’s commitment to the development of the youth, entrepreneurship expansion and the overall All Saints West Constituency. 

Anthony Smith expressed his love for the school suggesting that the school was close to his heart since his father taught at the school at one point and his best friend from child-hood Maulvin Edwards attended the school. 

Smith says growing up in Sea View Farm amongst his peers who attended the School he was privy to the school jokes and the inside stories of the former Principal Mr. Edwards, who recently retired. He also recalled with joy the privilege of going to the school private fetes and functions, allowing him to be with his friends, who attended the school. 

Jernya Oscar, a former student, school sporting star, and Anthony Smith’s nephew was at the handing over ceremony. Jernya was recently awarded a scholarship and is currently attending Willian Penn university in the USA.

Smith has given his commitment to refurbish the libraries of all the primary schools in his constituency to include Buckley Primary School, Freemans Village Primary School and the J T Ambrose Primary in All Saints Village. This he tags the Need to Read Program, with his motto: Empowering young minds one book at a time. This donation however lines up with his Entrepreneur and Business Development Program, where he wishes to help young business men and women own their own business and be successful.

The United Progressive Party Representative says that this is another phase of his commitment to the improvement of the people in All Saints West through education, entrepreneurship, sports and community development.

He reiterated that as a government the United progressive Party (UPP) would provide opportunities. To summarize he says, “If we provide opportunities, our hard-working people will do the rest and elevate themselves out of poverty.” 

The Principal, Mr. Hodge expressed gratitude for the timely donation, with Head of the Home Economics Department, Darcia Bailey, and a few enthusiastic students. Deputy Head-Girl Carolann Samuel, gave the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Mr. Smith for the timely contribution in this challenging economic time but more so highlighting the need for the sewing machine in the Home Economics Department for the popular CXC subject Clothing and Textile. 

Anthony Smith Jr. stated his reason for entering elective politics, which is a deep passion to help people. As he continues to positively impact the lives of the people of the All Saints West constituency, he hopes have a greater impact on young people, inspiring them to be the best versions of themselves.

It is regularly said that Anthony Smith demonstrates a commitment to serve people from all sides of the political divide with his personal message “Anthony for you Anthony for me Anthony for every-body” and that he epitomizes the UPP mantra – People First.
