SANDALS GRANDE ANTIGUA COMMENDS ITS FEMALE LEADERS

On a day that’s being observed across the world as International Women’s Day, Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa salutes all its female employees.

With a staff complement of almost 700 team members, many of whom are females, the resort continues to embrace gender equality. Women hold positions in all departments in various ranks of leadership: from supervisory, to managerial, to executive positions.

Training & Development Manager Matara Murphy, Revenue Manager Maria Jeffrey, Spa Manager Kafi Samuels and Front Office Manager Leslie Warner are four of the many hard-working females at the resort.

They epitomize this year’s UN Women’s theme, “Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.” These women are among the many in leadership positionsacross the resort and the Sandals group, who continue to rise to the occasion and take on the challenges that come their way. Through their diligence, they inspire other females, whether on resort or otherwise, to take on leadership roles, thereby aiding in the achievement of an equal future for all.

Murphy trains and motivates staff at the resort to maximise their potential; Jeffrey continues to lead her team to exceed monthly revenue targets. Undaunted by the trials of the times, Samuels admirably heads the spa services on resort, while Warner leads a team that works feverishly to ensure positive guest experience from arrival to departure.

Front Office Manager Leslie Warner

“I am proud to work with a team of phenomenal women at Sandals Grande Antigua,” General Manager Matthew Cornall said. “They are all part of the fabric of the resort and play an integral role in the respective departments. I take the opportunity to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to the female employees at Sandals Grande Antigua.”

In the words of the United Nation’s Development Programme (UNDP), “Women must have the opportunity to play a full role in shaping the pivotal decisions being made right now as countries respond to and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic-choices that will affect the wellbeing of people and the planet for times to come.”

As Sandals Grande Antigua and other Sandals resorts continue to navigate their way through unprecedented times, the company’s commitment to maintaining gender equality is unwavering. A virtual forum about women in leadership is being held companywide today.

Happy International Women’s Day Antigua & Barbuda!
