ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA RECORDS FIRST ROAD FATALITY OF 2021

ABS NEWS – The country has recorded its first road fatality of the year. Zuri Holder of Willikies succumbed to his injuries at the Mount St. John’s Medical Centre Monday evening.

He was the passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a crash on the Sir Sydney Walling Highway on Saturday night; the driver remains hospitalized.

Police say the collision occurred at around 11 as a black Toyota Allex car was heading in the direction of St. John’s at a high speed near XPZ Supermarket.

The driver reportedly lost control of the car which slammed into a White Honda Stepwagon vehicle heading in the opposite direction. The car then veered off the road and smashed into a wooden utility pole.

This was one of 11 road crashes in the first 72 hours of the New Year.
