Regional Netball Association to host Christmas Fiesta

The Caribbean Netball Association (CNA) will be hosting a virtual players forum dubbed ‘Netball Christmas Fiesta’. 

The virtual event is expected to place on Sunday, December 13th, 2020 and is designed “for

netballers to dialogue on their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic” and share their perspective on the way forward for netball in 2021.

This two-hour event, will be streamed on social media and is scheduled to start at 5:00pm (Eastern Caribbean Time).  The programme will include: Presidents’ Remarks from the presidents of each of the 13 member countries to address the players forum.

A Peer motivational speech by Khalifa McCollin – professional netballer from Trinidad and Tobagoand a country presentation of a poem, song or rap which describes netballers experiences with COVID-19 and how they plan to manage COVID and ensure a safe return to play in 2021 will also be included.

Each participating country will make a (maximum 3 minutes) presentation of the poem, song or rap. A poll will be launched for all participants who have logged in to decide the best presentationas the winning country will be awarded a waiver of 2021 CNA affiliation fee.

A netball trivia will be also be staged and prizes will be awarded to the five participants with the highest scores- 1st Place – Mobile Top up of US$50, 2nd Place – Mobile Top-up of US$40, 3rd Place – Mobile Top-up of US$30, 4th Place – Mobile Top-up of US$20 and 5th Place – Mobile Top-up of US$10.

On that day, the  CNA will launch a Future Netball Uniform contest. The winning entry along with the 2nd and 3rd best entries will be nnounced on CNA Day1 in April 2021 with 1st place earning US$100, 2nd place-US$50 and 3rd place-US$25. 

All national Associations are being urged to encourage  netballers, of all ages, to register for this event. The registration platform is https://cnachristmasfiesta.eventbrite.com/. They are also being asked to organize a live presentation (or recording) of a poem, song or rap which describes the experiences of netballers with COVID-19 and how they plan to manage COVID and ensure a safe return to play in 2021. Details of this presentation is to be sent no later than Tuesday December 8th. 

A dry run will be held on Thursday December 10th at 6pm. A link will be e-mailed and posted in the CNA WhatsApp chat.
