Browne’s Avenue man charged for gun, ammunition, and drugs

A twenty-five year-old man from Browne’s Avenue will be appearing before Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh in the St. John’s Magistrates’ court on November 25  to answer charges for the Possession of an unlicensed 9mm firearm, Possession of twelve 9mm rounds of ammunition, Possession of 1049 grams of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Transfer.

On November 13, police officers carried out a search on a property at Cashew Hill, where the accused Tyree Smith was present. During the search the illegal items were seized, and he was arrested and taken into custody.

Tyree Smith made his first appearance in court today but the matter was adjourned. He was represented by Attorney Wendel Robinson.

Meanwhile, a February 18 was the date set for the trial of three men, Kennecha Ryan, Authur James and Richard Baker who are also facing drug related charges.

They are jointly charged with the possession of 262 grams of cannabis, possession with intent to transfer said drugs and being concerned with the supply of 95 grams. Baker has an addition charge of possession of 95 grams of cannabis.
