It was an emotional day for Emergency Medical Technician Amir Daawuud as he was praised and appreciated publically by a mother who he assisted a few months ago.
Back in August, Daawuud and colleagues responded to a call from Erika Ramsey, who’s three-year-old son was badly hurt from a freak accident.
Four months later, after a full recovery, the mother and son paid a visit to Daawuud at the Antigua Barbuda Emergency Medical Services to express their gratitude.
“I called and I was freaking out because my son had a freak accident, and this is my way of saying thank you for getting me from Paynters to Mount St. John’s. You were there every step of the way, and when I didn’t know how to calm down, I didn’t know what to do, I was in panic mode and being a mom, you kept me calm.” She said in a heartfelt speech. “I think the world needs to know there are good EMTs out there.”
Keep up the good work Amir!
