Dismantling of the Double Decker Stand in the Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG) will begin next month.
Last year, it was reported by the government of their intent to refurbish the stands at the historic sporting facility but due to the coronavirus pandemic that work was postponed.
It was however revealed by Cabinet this week, that a decision has been made to bring that project on the front burner.
The vendors who occupy space underneath the stand will be placed north of the Printery in the green space next to the ticket booth of the CWI.
After the demolition, the newly-created space in the Antigua Recreation Grounds will remain open for a short time before re-construction commences.
Conditions at the ARG have been deteriorating for sometime. Many international, regional and local have scrutinized the government over the lack of maintenance at the historic grounds
