The Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre has announced temporary changes to its operational schedule, advising members of the public that routine outpatient services will be suspended during the Independence holiday and certain Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting activities.

According to a public advisory issued by the hospital, the adjustments will affect services between November 2 and November 4.

On Monday, November 2, routine outpatient services, including outpatient clinics, rehabilitation services, radiology and laboratory diagnostics, are suspended in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

The hospital has also advised that Tuesday, November 3, will operate under an emergency and essential services-only arrangement because of national CHOGM-related activities.

During that period, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation services and routine radiology and laboratory services will remain suspended for outpatients.

Normal operations, including routine outpatient services, are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, November 4.

However, the medical centre has emphasised that emergency medical care will remain available throughout the period.

The Emergency Room will continue operating around the clock to respond to acute and life-threatening medical situations.

Patient visiting hours will also remain unaffected, allowing families to continue supporting relatives receiving treatment at the hospital.

Members of the public are being encouraged to plan routine medical appointments accordingly and take note of the temporary changes.
