The United States Department of Justice has announced denaturalisation actions involving three Caribbean nationals: one Haitian and two Cubans.
The cases form part of a wider group of proceedings involving 40 individuals whom US authorities accuse of serious offences or other grounds for citizenship revocation.
Denaturalisation is a legal process through which a person who acquired citizenship through naturalisation may lose that citizenship if the applicable legal requirements are met.
The announcement highlights the potential consequences of US immigration enforcement actions for Caribbean communities and families.
