Antigua and Barbuda Art Week officially opened today with a vibrant display of local creativity at the V.C. Bird International Airport, where the arrival hall of the new terminal has been transformed into an exhibition space for homegrown artists.

The initiative, led by the V.C. Bird International Airport Authority(VCBIA), welcomes visitors with an array of paintings and mixed-media pieces, setting the tone for a week dedicated to celebrating the country’s cultural talent.

Presented by the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority in collaboration with the Department of Culture, the week-long festival will run from November 26 to December 2.

The programme features a dynamic lineup showcasing the best of Antigua and Barbuda’s visual arts, fashion, music, dance, spoken word, and traditional practices.

Organisers say this year’s edition will be the most immersive yet, offering residents and visitors alike an opportunity to experience the depth and diversity of the twin-island nation’s creative community.

Events are scheduled across various public spaces and cultural venues, with the aim of highlighting both established artists and emerging voices. The festival also seeks to strengthen the country’s cultural identity while supporting its growing creative industries.
