Thieves Steal $15,000 from Swetes Bakery

Antigua Barbuda Police in Swetes are investigating a break-in at Mumble Bakery that left owner Delroy Jackson counting losses of around $15,000.

The burglary occurred between 23:00 on Saturday, 6 September, and 03:40 the following morning.

Jackson told investigators that the stolen cash, in US and Eastern Caribbean currency, was taken along with the bakery’s CCTV DVR box.

Officers said the suspects gained entry by cutting two panes from a louvered bathroom window on the ground floor, then forced open a storeroom door before escaping through the same window.

Crime scene officers have processed the site and interviewed several people, but no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
