Ovals Ojays and Navigators have both advanced to the semifinals round of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division 2 Playoffs following game 2 triumphs against their respective opponents at the JSC basketball complex on Wednesday.
Playing the feature clash of a double-header, Ovals Ojays made light work of Da Project, winning the contest 92-56 to go two-nil up and claim the best of three series.
Young Tajahron Davis was the top performer for the victors, sinking a game-high of 27 points while grabbing 16 rebounds and dishing eight assists. Jayleyle Joseph also had a good night, sinking 24 points, grabbing eight rebounds and having five assists. Aiden Christian contributed with 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench while Shaheim Omarde and Dajon George both had eight points.
Nathan Matthew led the charge for Da Projects with 22 points, three rebounds and four assists. He had assistance from Erije Joseph with 17 points and seven rebounds while Gabriel DeSuza chipped in with eight points.
Meanwhile, Navigators defeated Phoenix 62-58 to claim their best of three series 2-0.
Ricky Willock led the charge for the victors with 20 points and five rebounds while Victor Osbourne added 10 points and eight rebounds to the effort. Jason Benjamin chipped in with nine points and 12 rebounds.
For Phoenix, Noel Ryan led with 19 points and eight rebounds while Daysher Samuelpicked up 18 points and seven rebounds. Nicholas Simpson added 11 points and had four rebounds off the bench.
