CHSS and AGS advance to Schools Under-15 Finals

Clare Hall Secondary School (CHSS) and Antigua Grammar School (AGS) secured their spots in the Ministry of Sports Under-15 Interschools Cricket Finals with impressive performances in Wednesday’s semifinal matches.

CHSS defeated Jennings Secondary School (JSS) by four wickets in a low scoring affair.

JSS batted first and posted 70 runs for eight from 11.2 overs, with Oziah Robertson (14) and Estan Hill (11) leading their batting effort. CHSS bowler Ian Jermiah was the standout performer with the ball, claiming four wickets while conceding just seven runs in his 3.2 overs.

In reply, CHSS successfully chased down the target, reaching 72 for six from 10.3 overs. Charles Abbott top-scored with 22 runs, while Jayden Charles contributed 17 runs to guide their team to victory. JSS bowler Dequan Cochrane put up a valiant effort grabbing five for 19 runs from his four overs, but his performance wasn’t enough to prevent CHSS from securing a four-wicket win.

In the second semifinal, Antigua Grammar School (AGS) delivered a dominant display to defeat All Saints Secondary School (ASSS) by nine wickets.

ASSS struggled with the bat, being dismissed for just 44 runs in 12 overs. Harryram Seegobin (6) and Marvin Singh (5) were the top scorers. The AGS bowling attack proved too strong, with Isiah Harris(3/4) and T’Andre Charles (3/9) leading the charge. Leonardo Ducreyand Deshawn Hoyte also chipped in with one wicket each.

AGS made short work of the run chase, reaching the target without losing a wicket. Ducrey remained unbeaten on 19 runs, while Shane Walsh contributed 16 not out to complete a comprehensive ten-wicket victory.

Following these results, CHSS will face AGS in the finals scheduled for Friday, May 16, 2025, at Antigua Recreation Ground (ARG).
