Four specialized police dogs will be added to the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda following Cabinet approval on Wednesday.
According to the Cabinet notes from Wednesday’s meeting, these specialized canines will undergo training to detect explosives, firearms, human remains, and various forms of evidence at crime scenes.
Police dogs are widely recognized for their superior sensory abilities, which can detect substances and materials that might be missed in standard human-led investigations.
The Cabinet did not disclose the cost of purchasing and training the specialized canines or the timeline for their deployment within the force.
