DR: Authorities seize over 132,000 grams of narcotics in March

In a major blow to drug trafficking networks, agents from the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), alongside the Public Prosecutor’s Office and National Police, have intensified their interdiction operations, successfully removing over 132,000 grams of various narcotics from the streets.

The sweeping anti-drug campaign included 45 raids and multiple interdiction operations carried out in recent hours.

Authorities confiscated 108,036 grams of cocaine, 20,661 grams of marijuana, 3,557 grams of crack, 13 grams of hashish, 2.10 grams of tusi, and 2.50 grams of methamphetamines, as well as 20 ecstasy pills. The total amount of seized substances reached 132,273 grams.

During these operations, law enforcement also seized 9 firearms, 35 machetes and knives, 2 vehicles, 27 motorcycles, 259 cell phones, 39 radios, 3 bulletproof vests, and 84 scales, along with cash and other evidence.

This recent success follows February’s operations, when authorities seized more than 700,000 grams of cocaine, marijuana, crack, ecstasy, and other narcotics from micro trafficking networks, demonstrating the continued effectiveness of their joint enforcement efforts.
