The number of decomposing bodies found in a drifting boat offshore Nevis has climbed to 19, following an initial report of 12.
The St Kitts and Nevis Defence Force Coast Guard made the shocking discovery shortly before midday on Wednesday.
Authorities have yet to determine the identities, nationalities, or circumstances that led to the tragic deaths. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, police stated they were unable to confirm the victims’ gender.
The vessel has been towed back to St Kitts as investigations continue. More updates are expected as officials work to uncover the mystery behind the grim discovery.
