Jamale Pringle, Political Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), is urging the Gaston Browne Administration to support local egg farmers amid rising production costs. Emphasizing the crucial role of agriculture in food security, Pringle called for necessary concessions for the Antigua and Barbuda Layer Farmers Association, including immediate access to an egg box-making machine.
The UPP envisions a sustainable future for egg farming and advocates for equal support for the agricultural sector alongside tourism. Pringle emphasized the need for policies that empower local farmers and contribute to regional food security, aligning with CARICOM’s goal to reduce agricultural imports by 25% by 2025.
