It’s clear as day, the narratives of gender orientation being forced on children all around the world. And whether we like it or not, this may just be the new normal. But one state refuses to accept this new normal, and this week, stripped Disney off itsspecial status.
The move is widely seen as retribution for Disney’s opposition to the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law also known as the Parental Rights in Education Law. Signed by Governor Ron DeSantis, it bars primary school teachers from discussing sexual orientation.
The law prohibits any instruction about sexual orientation or gender identity between kindergarten and third grade – particularly between five and nine years old.
The special status had allowed the company to operate as its own municipal government, with its own board of supervisors and fire department, and meant Disney could even build its own airport, or nuclear power plant if desired.
Furthermore, no taxes were levied as a part of the status allowing the entertainment giant freedom from almost all bureaucratic intervention for half a century.
In addition to this, there‘ have also been the banning of math’s textbooks that the state deemed inappropriate for the classroom, a move which supporters say it gives parents a great say in their children’s education.
