Reconstruction of XPZ Supermarket Delayed

Less than a year after popular XPZ supermarket’s manager, David, says that reconstruction has been delayed until the end of 2022. The supermarket on Sir Sydney Walling Highway was destroyed by a fire in June of last year, resulting in $10 million worth of damage.

He confirms that plans to rebuild were delayed to the Covid-19 pandemic. however, efforts to clear away the debris of the previous structure are ongoing.

He also promised that the supermarket will be rebuilt bigger and better than before and at the same location.

The 2019 fire saw scores of employees left jobless. A former employee of the establishment- a national of China- was arrested and is in jail awaiting trial for the charge of arson.
