Royal Grenada Police Force Mourns

Grenada- 40-year old Corporal Rodney George was rushed to the Princess Alice hospital in Mirabeau, St. Andrew after he collapsed while playing football with friends on the Paradise playing field.

The sudden death of the 40-year-old Corporal has sent shock waves through the Royal Grenada Police Force, as both the Grenada flag and the RGPF Flag are flying half mass.

Close to a dozen police officers died suddenly this year with at least two falling victims to the deadly coronavirus.

Corporal George was attached to the Finance Department at police headquarters on Fort George at the time of his untimely death.

In a release from The Royal Grenada Police Force it said it ismourning the loss of a fellow officer, Corporal #25 Rodney George, who was last attached to Police Headquarters (Finance Department) and passed away on Sunday 26th December, 2021.

The Commissioner of Police, Gazetted Officers, Ranks and File of the force extends condolences to the family, friends and colleagues as we come to terms with this loss.

Following his death, the Commissioner of Police ordered that all police flags be flown at half-mast.

George can be described as “intelligent”, “dedicated and committed” member of the Police Force.

“He’s a real good good human being who always greeted people with a smile, he was one you could approach with anything and once he can help he will.

Cpl George has a brother who is attached to the Prosecution Department of RGPF.

He has also played football for the police team in national competitions.
