Jamale Pringle pleads for an equal share of Vaccination Incentives

Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle believes that the Government should open up the vaccine raffle to every person who has taken the Covid-19 vaccine.

The Cabinet is offering one individual who takes their first or second shot between June 7 to the 30th a chance to win a parcel of land in Judges Hill, but Pringle is of the view that this is unfair to persons who have already gotten the jab.

“There are many persons who have concerns in regards to the fact that it’s a piece of land putting up now. Because they took it and they are still without a piece of land,” Pringle said.

“They are saying that it is not fair, they took it in terms of their health and the health of others while the government put in power the piece of land to others who may only take it for the land.”

“We have to look at a fair situation where they may very well have to open it for everyone who has taken the vaccine already so they can enter the draw.”

Pringle added that it will be unfair for persons to take the vaccines without any incentives. He has identified the situation similar in misfortune for individuals who have already taken the vaccine.

“Some of these persons are interested in getting a piece of land and cannot get a piece of land. They took the vaccines and I think they should be a part of the process, or at least include them in the giving of incentives.”

The Opposition leader is also of the view that there is not enough education on the vaccine to target individuals who are still hesitant.

“I am not seeing enough tailored public announcement towards those persons who are not taking the vaccines.”

“You hear the politicians and the different leaders on the media encouraging persons to take the vaccines but have we done a study to see how many persons are interested in taking the vaccines and how many are not interested to include reasons why they do not want to?” Pringle rhetorically asked.

“There are anti-vaxxers but you have some who are just late in taking the vaccine. Is it a situation where you can tailor your info to some and encourage them rather than looking at a broad brush situation where you are now forcing persons to take the vaccine rather than educating them more through forums or public service announcements so that they can make up there mind sooner rather than later?” The opposition Leader ended by asking.
