UPP’S ANTHONY SMITH SAYS COST OF LIVING HAS INCREASED WHILE THE STANDARD OF LIVING HAS DECLINED UNDER BROWNE ADMINSTRATION

Anthony Smith, Jr., the United Progressive Party candidate for All Saints West, says the Antigua Labour Party (ALP) Administration must be removed from office if this country is to be saved.

Speaking at the party’s second virtual public meeting on Tuesday night, Smith says that citizens and residents are suffering even more now, during the pandemic.

He says the Browne Administration boasted that it had created an economic powerhouse; yet, it is unable to meet many of its obligations, including paying pensions on time.

He accuses the Prime Minister of being boastful, but with nothing substantial to show.

Smith says the UPP is ready to redeem Antigua and Barbuda and place it back on economic sustainability, something that it has done before.

While the cost of living has increased, the people’s usual standard of living has declined under this Administration, Smith charges.

Instead of creating an enabling environment for the people, members of the ALP Administration are enriching themselves on the backs of the people, Smith declares.
