The family of the nation’s ninth murder victim is struggling to come to grips their loss especially today when the woman would have been celebrating her 46th birthday.

On Saturday night Simone Whyte was tragically murdered in the heart of the city allegedly by the hands of anex-lover.

Her aunt, Karen Anglin of Jamaica told the Antigua Trumpet that her loved ones “need justice for her killing.”

“We don’t want her killing to just go like that,” she added.

“This is a hard thing we are going through right now fuh know we lose a niece, mother, sister and everything,”she continued.

Anglin also shared that Whyte’s mother is having an extremely difficult time. Furthermore, she said “her 17 son is not talking to anybody.”

Whyte is said to have moved to Antigua less than 5 years ago, to ply her hair as a hairdresser in order to provide for her son through university.

Anglin explained that Whyte was a loving person.

“She show you tough love because what you want for you a dat she want. She believe in education. She believe in us to work and achieve for ourselves. Simone is a loving person. She is a family person,” she stated.

The mother of three had plans of visiting Jamaica next month and sending her son to another school.

“She is the breadwinner for her kids dem,” Anglin remarked while disclosing that the father of the children was also murdered years ago in England.

The aunt could be heard crying as she said: ”It is so hard fuh know she come fuh look a better life and is her body we getting back home.”

Meanwhile, the family plans on repatriating Whyte’s body back to Jamaica.

Anglin lobbied for financial assistance saying “we ask God to work out things in our favor.”
