Seriously ill baby dies even as parents are fundraising to secure medical treatment in Barbados

The baby whose parents were raising funds to get her further medical tests in Barbados before December has died:  Grace Goodwin passed away today, October 27, at the Mount St. John Medical Centre at about 6:30 a.m.

At the time, her parents were appearing on the Good Morning Sass show, making an appeal for financial assistance and prayers for the ailing child.

The couple were called to the hospital after the baby’s condition deteriorated; but on their arrival they were met with the sad news that she had passed.

Grace was diagnosed with a cyanotic  congenital heart defect just one day after being born on July 9.

Her condition became worse, and she was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support.  Reportedly, Baby Grace’s heart stopped at least twice and she had to be resuscitated.

Natassia 23, and her husband, Terrance Goodwin, 28, had been hoping to raise US$950 for the required test, as well as the cost of air travel and accommodations.

The parents, who also have a two year-old daughter, are grief-stricken by the loss of their infant; but Terrance tells REAL News that he is remaining strong and trying not to fall apart for the sake of his wife.
