SDA School closes for a week due to covid scare

The Seventh-day Adventist Primary and Secondary school will close for the rest of this week following reports that a parent of a student at the Radio Range school plant tested positive for the corona virus.

The child of the parent who tested positive is also said to be in quarantine and will be assessed to determine if he/she has also contracted the virus.

Parents were notfied today of the new development as a precaution. The notice further explained that during the one week closure, all classrooms will be properly sanitized.

The closure comes into effect from tomorrow Tuesday 2nd February.

Meanwhile, Director of Education Clare Browne while speaking on state media on Monday night said there is still no need for all public schools on the island to be closed.

He did however indicate that if ‘the science tells us otherwise then we will act accordingly’.

Thus far 14 students have been said to be in quarantine since the reopening of schools in the country last year.

According to reports, no student has tested positive thus far for the virus.
