ST. JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda – The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has held discussions with Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister, Gaston Browne, on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding trade opportunities and advancing international financial reform during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
The meeting took place in St. John’s, where Commonwealth leaders have gathered for the high-level summit.
According to the British government’s official statement, the discussions included opportunities for a closer trading relationship between the United Kingdom and Antigua and Barbuda, with both sides recognising the potential benefits for employment and Caribbean supply chains.
The leaders also discussed international financial reform, particularly climate financing, as smaller and vulnerable countries continue to face significant economic and environmental challenges.

The discussions form part of the wider diplomatic engagements taking place during CHOGM 2026.
