The organisers of the Praise Break Gospel Quest have announced that the 2026 edition of the gospel music competition will not take place this year.

The committee said the decision forms part of a renewed focus on strengthening the initiative and expanding opportunities for gospel artistes in Antigua and Barbuda.

Despite the postponement, organisers have confirmed that the competition is expected to return in 2027. They also reassured individuals who registered for the 2026 edition that their applications will remain valid and that they will automatically be transferred into the participation process for the next competition.

The initiative aims to discover, nurture and develop gospel music talent while providing artistes with opportunities to grow their skills and reach wider audiences.

The committee has also named Psalmist Ellisha Andrew as its priority gospel recording artiste for 2026–2027.

Although the cancellation means registered participants will have to wait longer for the next competition, organisers have indicated that the programme’s broader mission remains in place.
