Antigua & Barbuda Announces Powerhouse Squad for LIT20 Festival

The Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association has officially unveiled its 14-member senior national cricket team that will compete in the upcoming Leeward Islands T20 (LIT20) Cricket Festival. The tournament is scheduled to run from May 31 to June 8, 2025 at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium, bringing together the best cricket talent from across the Leeward Islands.

The squad will be led by West Indies all-rounder Rahkeem Cornwall, who has been appointed captain, with the Leeward Islands Thunder skipper Karima Gore serving as vice-captain.

The team features several standout players with international experience, including West Indies leg-spinner Hayden Walsh and MVP of the CWI Breakout League Kofi James. Young talents like Micah McKenzie who was the highest wicket taker at the Breakout League has also been selected for the senior side for the first time along with D’Ahri Francis, Jedidiah Martin and Bartlette Henry.

The full squad is as follows Rahkeem Cornwall (Captain), Karima Gore (Vice Captain), Kofi James, Hayden Walsh Jr, Elroy Francis Jr., Javier Spencer, Nino Henry, Glenton Williams, D’Ahri Francis, Jedidiah Martin, Tyrone Williams Jr., Micah Mckenzie, Bartlette Henry and Michael Dover.

The reserves include Amahl Nathaniel and Ishmael Peters, who will remain on standby throughout the tournament. The management team consists of Pernel Watley as coach and Purnell Joseph taking on managerial responsibilities.

The LIT20 Cricket Festival is expected to draw significant attention from cricket enthusiasts across the Caribbean, with all matches to be held at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Antigua and Barbuda will play St Kitts in their first match on May 31 at 7pm. The other four teams in the competition would be Nevis, Anguilla, Combined Islands (St Maarten and Montserrat) and the Virgin Islands (British and United States).
