Caribbean Leaders Unite: Browne and Gonsalves Prepare to Address UN General Assembly

Outside the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda and Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines shared a light moment on the streets of New York.

Both leaders are set to address the assembly on Friday, advocating for special treatment for Small Island Developing States and the removal of the US embargo on Cuba, a nation that has supported both countries.

Their connection is further strengthened by the recent announcement of new flights from Saint Vincent to Antigua, starting October 4, by the reorganized LIAT 2020 airline. Following the liquidation of LIAT 1974 Ltd., PM Browne has championed the new airline’s importance for regional transportation.
