The newly established British Jamaican Chamber of Commerce has announced its inaugural leadership team as it prepares to strengthen commercial relations between Jamaica and the United Kingdom.
Claudine Reid has been appointed charter president, while Mahari Hay has been named charter vice-president for the United Kingdom.
The appointments represent an important step in establishing the organisation’s leadership structure as it seeks to encourage stronger trade and investment connections between the two countries.
The chamber is expected to provide opportunities for businesses and investors to develop partnerships, explore commercial opportunities and strengthen economic cooperation.
The initiative comes as Jamaica continues to pursue international business relationships and expand opportunities for its private sector.
The establishment of the chamber could also provide a platform for Jamaican businesses seeking greater access to British markets.
