Malikah Bailey, 45 years old businesswoman, and United States citizen was charged by police with Trafficking in a Controlled Drug following the seizure of 78 lbs. of Cannabis, which carries an estimated street value of $ 702,000.00 ECC.
The charge was laid against Ms. Bailey following an operation conducted by officers on Sunday, 23rd August 2026 at Maurice Bishop International Airport.
On arrival, a search was carried out on Ms. Bailey’s luggage which led to the discovery of the above mentioned Cannabis.
Ms. Bailey made her first court appearance on Tuesday, 25th August 2026 at St. George’s #1 Magistrate’s Court and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison. She is expected to make her next court appearance on 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.
