VINCENTIAN YOUTH TAKES GOLD AT REGIONAL CHESS FESTIVAL

St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ very own Vedant Shetty participated in the 20th Central American and Caribbean Youth Chess Festival held in Dorado, Puerto Rico, which concluded on 20th December, taking a Gold Medal in the Blitz, Under-10 Absolute Category and a Silver Medal in the Classical, Under-10 Absolute Category.

The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Chess Federation stated that his success at this prestigious regional tournament underscored both his dedication to the sport and his growing reputation as a formidable young talent in international chess.

“Vedant’s performance is a testament to his continued hard work, discipline, and passion for the game. The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Chess Federation is immensely proud of his accomplishments and looks forward to supporting his continued success on the global stage,” the Federation said.

The Federation further stated: “Vedant’s achievements not only highlight his personal talent but also serve as inspiration for aspiring players across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the wider Caribbean, and beyond.”
