The first in a series of training sessions for Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) targeting volunteers throughout the various districts was held at the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS).
The training began on November 15 and ran for three consecutive weekends.
During the training sessions, District Disaster Committee Volunteers were taken through the basics of Disaster Management, Search and Rescue, Fire Safety and Telecommunications which covers the use of VHF radios, among other topics.
